2013 Acura ILX Live Photos: 2012 Chicago Auto Show

OK, so it looks a lot like a Civic with Acura's grille and some fancier folds, but Acura promises the ILX will deliver the luxury goods--at a bargain price. While that remains to be seen in our own testing, these photos should give you a better idea of what the new compact luxury sedan looks like in person, in production form.

The 2013 Acura ILX first made its debut
in concept form at the Detroit Auto Show last month. At this week's Chicago Auto Show, Acura revealed the production version, and it looks nearly identical to the concept.

Snatching its powertrains from the new Civic, the ILX gets a choice of a not-too-powerful and not-too-efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 24/32 mpg and 150 horsepower or a 2.4-liter four rated at 201 horsepower and 20/29 mpg. The bigger four only comes with a manual transmission, while the smaller uses a five-speed slushbox.

A hybrid is also available, pairing a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a CVT and Honda's IMA system. Acura estimates the hybrid ILX will rate 35 mpg in town and 38 mpg on the highway.
