HTC EVO Design 4G Receiving OTA Security Update

Attention, update coming! The hot spot for Sprint’s collection of smartphones is, of course, the HTC EVO 4G LTE. But who said we can’t get happy for older models? In fact, we must get much happier when the update comes to an older product. This time the HTC EVO Design 4G is being refreshed.

The owners of this device have been waiting for some juicy news, for example, an Ice Cream Sandwich update. Unfortunately, the pack doesn’t include an ICS. Meanwhile, something is better than nothing, right? And this something is a set of security fixes, which is not less important for your phone.

The update (2.12.651.8) was rolled out on April 13, meaning you can now get it manually. If you prefer to wait for the notification, be ready to get it starting April 17. It will also be pushed out in stages, so don’t get confused if the update list displays nothing new to you.

And finally, take this as a good sign. The update means HTC has not forgotten about its older products and may send better gifts next time, which might be just the thing you’ve been craving for, the almighty Ice Cream Sandwich.
