While we are at Hewlett-Packard’s business notebooks with Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors, you can take a look at the image of the unannounced HP EliteBook 8470p.
The 8470p is successor of the 8460p and retains the same screen diagonal of 14 inches. Also, the design of the notebook appears to be the same or almost the same, but inside the machine there is an upcoming Intel Core i7 1.7GHz Ivy Bridge processor. The laptop will be most likely additionally available with other i7 and i5 Ivy chips.
The leaked unit has the HD 4000 integrated graphics and a Notebook Review Forum member mrmorphine claims the EliteBook will come with either 1366×768 or 1600×900 resolution as well as with a mechanical HDD or SSD, depending on customer’s choice.
Like the previous model, the 8470 will have an optional strap-on battery which will reportedly deliver a run time of about 32 hours when combined with the standard battery.
Other known details are a pair of USB 3.0 and a pair of USB 2.0 ports, DisplayPort and VGA video connectors, a media card reader, and an ExpressCard slot. Keyboard backlight is not present on the spotted model.
In an early test, the laptop scored impressive 4578 points in PCMark 7 benchmark.
