I've done the hard part, and the dirty part. I purchased a 28 foot fiberglass boat and retro fitted to a commercial fishing vessel and is currently 90% done. I have purchased the required commercial safety gear, 2 survival suits with strobe lights, lights and whistles, 2 exposure suits, throw ring, and 4 man life raft which needs repacking and possibly even replacement. I have also purchased a laptop with GPS color navigation program and GPS satellite antenna and the auto pilot is rebuilt from a previous boat and is nearly installed. I purchased a GPS plotter with depth sounder and fish finder, vhf radio telephone, vhf radio, cb radio, and a single side band radio, portable generator, 3 halogen lights, one high pressure sodium light, new navigation lights, mast light, mast strobe light, cordless tool set, wrench tool sets, 35 gallon fuel cell with bladder, new battery's, additional 12 volt panels, shore power cords, water supply pumps, deck hose pumps, new sea chest plumbing, fish hold pumps, electric crab pot line hauler with davit and have constructed trolling poles and brackets along with some cabin comfort features am/fm/cd player, microwave, dvd player, new bunks, and filling up fuel tanks, basically spending over 20k in the last few month
my main goal was to tuna troll this summer and then river crab in december then purchase a Oregon salmon troll permit for 2010, but due to unforeseen moorage cost and breaking a steering bracket which was hard to find, had cost me the remainder of my money and now tuna season is over and with no fisheries alavable that dont require a limited entry permit to fish. lacking the funds to contuine i can possibly loose my boat to high cost guest moo rage.
I'm in need of a Oregon salmon troll permit "2k-8k" for next spring and the state licensing cost, a radar and the funds to transport the boat to oregon
